world as the perfect solution to the problem of speaker installation within the cramped Mini interior.
We also currently have the largest range of Classic Mini Speaker Pods & Spacers available and we were the first manufacturer / supplier to offer pods that allow for the installation of 4” (10cm), 5” (13cm), 6.5” (17cm) and 6”x9” speakers. We were also the first to offer spaces, which allow for the installation of 6.5” (17cm) or 6"x9" speakers within the standard parcel shelf speaker holes (see details below).

As you can see from the photos below our Speaker Pod range has been designed to allow the installation of Speaker Pods onto any
suitable surface within the Mini's interior. As a result, they can be installed
in numerous locations within the Mni interior (or in fact any vehicle), although the
locations photographed below will without doubt, be the most popular
destination for these Optimise Automotive Speaker Pods.

The pods are secured to the desired location using the
‘L’ brackets that are included with the kit. Simply attach the brackets
to the pods, with the gold screws provided and use the M4 bolts & lock nuts (also provided) to attach them to the desired location. Please see "Installation Information" below for details.

Dash Rail Speaker Pods
A product developed due to popular demand and designed to enable the installation of our Speaker Pod range to the dash rails. Our cleaver installation system uses the existing pre-drilled holes on the bottom dash rail, which means no drilling into the bodywork is required.
Please Note
If your internal bonnet release is located under the bottom dash rail
you may have to move it to allow for the installation of Dash Rail
Speaker Pods.
The pods are secured to the dash rails using the
‘L’ brackets that are included with the kit. Simply attach the brackets
to the pods, with the gold screws provided and use the M4 bolts & lock nuts (also provided) to attach them to the bottom dash rail - using the existing pre-drilled holes. Please see "Installation Information" below for details. This is a very fiddly job - which you will need patients for.

Inner Front Wheel Arch F.A.Q
A frequently asked question regarding the placement of these pods within the front wheel arches is, "do they get in the way?"
The honest answer is yes (kind of, read on) and no matter what other companies may tell you, basic common sense should tell you, differently. We all know that getting in and out of a Mini can be difficult at times, even without obstructions in the foot wells. So, with the pods fitted it would be wrong of us to tell you that they will not get in your way whilst accessing or leaving your Mini. Obviously, the bigger the pods are, the more they will intrude into the cabin and the amount that they get in your way will depend on your size.
However, Optimise Automotive can confidently tell you that once seated within your Mini, the pods will not get in the way of driving and no matter how big your feet are, you will have full access of the pedals.

Speaker Spacers
Another product developed due to popular demand and designed to enable the installation of 6.5" or 6"x9" speakers on
the Mini parcel shelf, within the standard 13.5cm
factory cut holes. The spaces work by raising your speakers off the parcel
shelf, which allows the speaker cone to sit within the
standard factory cut holes - simply select the desired depth whilst
choosing your trim (1.8cm or 3.6cm).
Only standard MK5 (onwards) Mini's have factory cut
13.5cm holes on the parcel shelf, older Mini’s (Mk1 to Mk4 – prior Mk5/1990) do not
have these 13.5cm factory cut speaker holes on the rear shelf.
Please Note We cannot
guarantee that our Speaker Spaces range will raise all makes and models of
6.5" and 6"x9" speakers enough to fit within the standard holes. As a result, please check to make sure that your speaker
cones fit into the holes on your parcel shelf, within a maximum mounting depth of at 3.6cm (see the diagram below for help).
The maximum mounting depth of 3.6cm is measured from the to surface of the parcel shelf to the underneath of the mounting gasket (the thing you screw through to attach the speaker).

Installation Information
Optimise Automotive must stress that our Speaker Pods, Dash Rail Speaker Pods and Speaker Spacers need to be installed as recommended (by Optimise Automotive) to ensure that they are securely installed/fitted in place:
Speaker Pods
It is important that the Speaker Pods are secured to the vehicle using the ‘L’ brackets, screws and M4 bolts & lock nuts provided. To install the pods using the brackets / nuts & bolts system you will be required to drill holes through the metal surface or bodywork that you mount the pods on. You may also have to cut off the excess length of the bolts, after installation, if they are too long.
Dash Rail Speaker Pods
It is important that the Dash Rail Speaker Pods are secured to the vehicle using the ‘L’
brackets, screws and M4 bolts & lock nuts provided. To install the
pods using the brackets / nuts & bolts system simply attach the brackets
to the pods, with the gold screws provided and use the M4 bolts & lock nuts (also provided) to attach them to the bottom dash rail - using the existing pre-drilled holes. You may also have to cut off the excess length of the bolts, after installation, if they are too long. This is a very fiddly job - which you will need patients for.
Speaker Spacers
It is important that the Speaker Spacers are secured to the parcel shelf using the M4 bolts & lock nuts provided. To install the pods using the nuts & bolts system you will be required to drill holes through the metal parcel shelf. You may also have to cut off the excess length of the bolts, after installation, if they are too long.
WARNING - Install this product as instructed.
Ensure all pods are fitted by a fully qualified engineer,
who will follow the instructions above. Also make sure to test that the pods are securely
fastened before driving. Optimise Automotive cannot be held responsible for improper installation.
It is the responsibility of the fitter (not Optimise Automotive) to ensure that the pods are installed correctly. If the pods are not installed correctly Optimise Automotive cannot be held responsible for personal injury
(or death) caused to any person (or persons) who is involved in any accident resulting from improper installation of these pods.
If a product is installed by a member of the Optimise Automotive staff you will be issued with a certificated of installation - to be dated and signed by both parties - confirming that the product (or products) has been installed and approved by both parties (the Optimise Automotive fitter and the vehicle owner).

All Optimise Automotive speaker pods are laser cut from 18mm MDF
(concentric circles / ellipses bonded together to create the above
depths), for ultimate precision and consistent high quality control.
