Enclosures Pods

We are the first (and currently only) manufacturer / supplier of this product. We currently offer a range of speaker enclosure pods that allow for the instillation of 4” (10cm), 5” (13cm), 6.5” (17cm) or 6”x9” speakers and have been designed to address two very commonly overlooked Mini speaker installation problems.

Improved Sound
Firstly, they have been designed to improve the sound quality of your speakers. It is commonly understood that subwoofers work better within enclosures, yet it is not as commonly known that speakers also work better if installed within their own enclosures. By fitting Optimise Automotive speaker enclosure pods, either under your parcel shelf or on the back of an under seat kick board, the sounds created by your speakers will be vastly improved.

Speaker Protection

Secondly, a majority of people are also unaware that a subwoofer installed in the boot of a Mini will destroy any speakers mounted on the parcel shelf, if they are left un-protected. 
The damage is caused by the air-pressure created by the subwoofer, with nowhere to escape; the airwaves constantly crash against the underneath of the speakers installed on the parcel shelf. In addition to this, the air-waves created by the subwoofer will impair the movement of the parcel shelf speakers speaker cones, resulting in distorted sound.


As a result, Optimise Automotive speaker enclosure pods manage to kill two birds with one stone, as not only do they protect your speakers from subwoofer air-pressure, but also improve the sound quality of you’re in car entertainment system.

The pods are secured to the desired location using the ‘L’ brackets that are included with the kit. Simply attach the brackets to the pods, with the gold screws provided and use the M4 bolts & lock nuts (also provided) to attach them to the desired location. Additional Information
This product has a mounting depth of 5.4cm, which is the measurement between the petrol tank (a 7.5 gallon fuel injection tank) and the parcel shelf. Designed to work in conjunction with Optimise Automotive parcel shelf speaker boards, if combined the total mounting depth is raised to 7.2cm.

6"x9" and 6.5" speaker pod enclosures will not fit under the rear seats, so cannot be attached to an Optimise Automotive kick board to create enclosures for the installed speakers.

Installation Information
Optimise Automotive must stress that this product needs to be installed as recommended (by Optimise Automotive) to ensure that it is securely  installed/fitted in place.

It is important that the Enclosure Pods are secured to the vehicle using the ‘L’ brackets, screws and M4 bolts & lock nuts provided. To install the pods using the brackets / nuts & bolts system you will be required to drill holes through the metal surface or bodywork that you mount the pods on. You may also have to cut off the excess length of the bolts, after installation, if they are too long.

WARNING - Install this product as instructed.

Ensure all pods are fitted by a fully qualified engineer, who will follow the instructions above. Also make sure to test that the pods are securely fastened before driving. Optimise Automotive cannot be held responsible for improper installation.

It is the responsibility of the fitter (not Optimise Automotive) to ensure that the pods are installed correctly. If the pods are not installed correctly Optimise Automotive cannot be held responsible for personal injury (or death) caused to any person (or persons) who is involved in any accident resulting from improper installation of these pods.

If a product is installed by a member of the Optimise Automotive staff you will be issued with a certificated of installation - to be dated and signed by both parties - confirming that the product (or products) has been installed and approved by both parties (the Optimise Automotive fitter and the vehicle owner).

Manufacturing
All Optimise Automotive speaker protectors are laser cut from 18mm MDF (concentric circles / ellipses bonded together to create the above depths), for ultimate precision and consistent high quality control.
